The Pampered Pup

Did you know that coconut oil is not just good for cooking and good for your skin, but also good for your dog?! Neither did we! And you can actually make coconut oil doggie treats (thanks Pinterest) that are super easy and will make your dog’s coat shine and keep their joints and teeth healthy too.

We tried this recipe out and our pups were pretty pleased. Very simple, here’s what you do:

Start with some parchment paper, a mason jar, some coconut oil, and a melon scoop (works really well) or a teaspoon.

Note: If your house is fairly warm like mine, the coconut oil may be pretty melted, or might melt once you scoop it out. This happened on my first attempt so I had to crank up the AC to solidify it a bit. You can also put your bottle in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes for a faster fix.

Coconut Oil

Make enough dollops of coconut oil to fill one mason jar and then put the parchment paper in the fridge for a short time until they are solidly formed. Remove from parchment paper and drop into the mason jar for storage. Voila!

Coco Balls

I give my pups one a day as a health supplement & treat. Make sure to keep refrigerated and store in a sealed mason jar for freshness. Use gloves if you don’t want greasy fingers!

Nom nom nom nom!!!
